Another popular stop in Puerto Vallarta is "Las Animas". A small fishing village and a beach just south of the Bay. It has been a favorite of many because it is like entering a tropical paradise. The beach is highly rated as one of the most beautiful in the bay for its fine, clear sand, transparent water and very soft distance.
In Las Animas you can hike through several hills until you reach a beautiful waterfall located 25 minutes from the beach, so this is really for the adventure seeker. There are many beach restaurants that can prepare a wide variety of Mexican foods and your favorite drinks.
Las Animas is a small indigenous town with native Mexicans and their families who have lived there for many generations. The area is known as an indigenous ejido, administered by communities in Chacala, a village to the east in the mountains near El Tuito.
You will find all the activities on the beach, such as the banana boat ride, parasailing and wave runners. Have a drink of "raicilla", a drink that is made locally. You'll also find Las Animas Beach Adventure Park on the beach to add a little excitement to your day with zip lines, suspension bridges, rock climbing, tequila tasting, and much more. It's cool and it gets your blood flowing.
